(now don't you scoff too soon) :
If your neurons were laid end to end,
they could reach the moon!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Neurons (nerve cells) are microscopic, each about 10 microns (1/100 of a mm) wide. However, the human body has so many, and some are so long, that if laid end to end, they would extend for about 236,000 miles. The moon is usually more than 238,000 miles away, but sometimes its orbit brings it a bit closer. Okay, maybe YOUR neurons would not quite reach the moon, but perhaps those of your oversized neighbor would.
