Never Alone Poem by David Harris

Never Alone

We sit on a park bench
for a bit of peace and quiet,
to be alone with our thoughts.
In reality we are never alone,
maybe from other human beings,
but other living things
surround us everywhere,
plants, trees, insects, birds
and the list goes on and on.
They do not disturb our thoughts,
but their presence is always near.
From beneath our feet
to above our heads
living things surround us
everywhere we go.
So we are never alone
and thankfully so.
