Dreaming at night of a Jurassic Park T-Rex
Watching me from outside the night window
Waiting for me to leave the building
The devil setting fire to the hellish room
To force me to hide behind a tree instead
Or race for my life to a different building.
Dreaming at night of a devious spider
Hiding in the darkness where I am lost
No one giving me a needed lift home
Where I am stranded for the lonely night alone
And need to walk a long way to a travel lodge
Hearing the massive spider whisper to me.
Dreaming at night of the grey darkness
There being no light: everything a blur
As if I have gone nearly blind
The air looking smoke filled and hazy
Scared for my vulnerable eyesight
But it isn't my eyesight at fault: it's the dark of the devil.
Dreaming at night of carpentry
Where carpenters construct furniture
But there are no health or safety rules
Even electricity unsafe: nowhere to walk to
And I am in the middle of the dangerous room
Waiting for God to rescue my tortured soul.
Dreaming of Hellraiser: except the characters
Are different and the storyline longer
The nightmare very hazy and confused
The fictional film turning into nighttime stories
My brain creating scenarios of this classic
The dream with a sense of twisted familiarity.
