Never In All Befores Done Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Never In All Befores Done

More are today wanting,
What the 'before'...
Had been and meant to them.
To again ignore,
Opportunities given.
Not to take for granted...
What today they still do.
With time to get to not forget,
To pray.
And ask from God to be forgiven,
For their inability to change.
Under the most dire of circumstances.
Wanting even more now,
To be as thoughtless, greedy...
Mindless and selfish,
As they can possibly be.

However...
There are exceptions.
And unfortunately,
They are not given the news coverage...
Or the representation to present,
The goodness of what America is.
Since one picked to sit,
In a position of leadership gets...
The opportunity to solicit followers,
Who imitate, express and address...
An example of what this leader has meant,
And represents to present...
In their lives.
Like never in all the 'befores' has done!
With such incredible mental instability,
Displayed in embarrassing ways beyond disgust!
