Never Knowing You Poem by Tracey Owens

Never Knowing You

Rating: 4.0

You were my everything,
Or atleast that is what I thought.
I felt like I was the only one that
mattered when I was with you.
Nothing could have made me
Happier then being with you.
I opened up my heart to you,
Told you my life secrets.
You knew my fears
And my worries of the world.

But in truth, I knew nothing
about the person you were.
You never opened up
Your heart to me.
I never knew your fears
Or your worries of the world.
When I was with you,
I was blinded by a fake
Illusion of you.
I never got the chance
To see who you really were
Because you kept me in the dark.

You expressed your regret of not getting to know someone well in your poem. An enjoyable read even though it is a sad lament. Ravensong
