Never Leaving Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Never Leaving

Rating: 5.0

I m never leaving you my son

"I m never leaving you my son"
Next day she was gone
Didn't find her home
I had been bad
Making her sad
But i cannot sleep
Every night i weep
Same nightmare i keep
I remember her voice sweet
Saying lovingly to me
Setting my mind free
She would say looking into my eyes
Straight from her heart with no lies

"I am never leaving you my son"
But like i said she left
Maybe she suspected theft
Maybe thought i had a cleft lip palette
She no longer wanted to be my parent
I failed to be a perfect child
Always offending acting wild
Evoking nightmares so clear
She was filled with fear
That i might appear from many a mile
Knock on the door wearing a smile
Tell her to leave everything behind
"Mom, you and i are going for a ride"

Her words keep ringing in my mind
"I am never leaving you my child"
But she left
I am bereft

It is never easy for a mother to leave her children

Mom's are quite composed persons. They don't fear But try to find ways to teach the good. But children never understand them unless they themselves become parents.
