Years have passed,
And leaves have fallen
Under the great oak,
As much as roots have grown,
Deeper into the soil.
Years have passed,
And what have you done?
You've stayed in the town you were born in.
What about these dreams of yours?
Dreams about lands afar,
Dreams about different sunsets
And promises of new dawns?
You were young,
And you were smart,
But the murder of your hopes
Happened as you forgot how powerful you were.
Years have passed,
But there still are years to come.
Will you stay in the town you were born in?
Or will you be brave enough,
To go find different sunsets,
And keep faith in the promise of new dawns?
