New Year Poem: Night Sky Celebrations ©

The sea is silent, on night watch,
The clouds, a quiet reflection;
The constant moon, a silver torch,
The stars, a celebration.

Then, at the stroke of midnight,
amidst the raucous sounds of revelry,
the skies burst into coloured light,
garish on the glistening sea.

Luminous crimson, golden greens,
And a shocking, brilliant blue;
Clashing with the tranquil scenes,
Another point of view.

Each night, if we would raise our eyes,
to see heavens stars blaze in the skies...
