'Nice' Alert

Rating: 5.0

Dear Nephew,

I couldn't help hearing
a guy of little respect
talking on his phone
on the tram.
He used 'nice' about 10 times.

Tell me, is 'nice' replacing
'All good', 'nuts' and 'tits'?

Tell me you're not using 'nice'
or that you won't when you visit.

If you will be,
tell me you're here for only a day,
then you're off to Perth;
that 'nice' times 10
was the rest-of-my-lifetime's worth.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Teacher in grade 10 told us never to use 'nice' unless it means 'perfect'. She would have scorned 'all good' for the 'all'. As if.
