No Monster Under The Bed Poem by Paula Glynn

No Monster Under The Bed

Where once there was a monster under the bed
That mythological demon is now long since dead
That childhood monster in my innocent head
That did leave me with nighttime dread
Has left behind forever the nightmares of the dead.

Where now there is calm under the bed
No dust or rubbish or clutter that stresses
Now always clean and perfectly tidy instead
Everything in perfect order underneath my comfortable bed
Knowing that instead of monsters in my nighttime bed.

Memories of frightening childhood stories
Does leave and depart in happy adult glories
A home lacking anger, stress and clutter on tables
Knowing underneath the bed dust free and bare
Only safe empty space without monstrous fables.

Sitting in a bare and clutter free bedroom
Knowing I never did or will hoard
Living a busy life where I never get become bored
Under my bed free of clutter and mess
Completely bare leaving me free of stress.
