Weary of kissing frogs and hugging snakes,
Of stepping barefoot on dead grass,
You often blame life for the unavoidable ugliness
And run away to hide!
Stratagems for avoiding what is
Repetive, unkown or unpleasant
Require endless additions of new
Psychological makeup.
You want the colorful rose but not its thorns,
The loving touch of Sun and wind
Not tornadoes and burned skin
Yet, no mud no lotus my dear!
In these times there is a lot of mud: let's hope lotus begins to grow.
And the lotus has it all: secrets of mud, clearness of water, brightness of sky.

We like to live life simple and beautiful. Anything ugly and unpleasant we always try to avoid. But life is both sorrow and joy, rain and thunderstorm, sweet spring and biting cold. A nice poem indeed. Loved it. 'You want the colorful rose but not its thorns, The loving touch of Sun and wind Not tornadoes and burned skin Yet, no mud no lotus my dear! ..' is true and nice. Thanks for sharing.
