NOCTURNAL POEM
How ominous the night is
One cannot sleep
As one shuts the eyes
The smooth bedstead
Appears sizzling hot
Today the cloud is raining down
on the tin roof
One cannot touch
The siuli of the heart
falls down on touching
The heart-rending voice
of the Indian nightingale
at midnight
digs the heart
O nightingale
What a voiceless voice you do have
The heart pains
Hearing your voice
