The Rainy Season Original: Assamese Gayatri Phukan, Translated: Rupa Phukan Saikia

Rating: 5.0

The rains clean up the morning

Breaking the pleasant drowsiness
Sprinkle dream in the field
Smelling the fragrance of soil
The man sits a while
under a berry tree
He finds that nourishment like
the most testy meal
in the world

The flood affected people
don't like rain
When the rivers turn to be grown up
A sorrowful bird
weeps in heart

A powerful write on nature's wrath and wonders. Yes, rain brings happiness and sorrow. Cleverly written.
