Noel Prowls For Preys - Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Noel is sitting there by himself

Bunching up four legs, what is he prowling for?

Nothing I can see or hear

But with better hearing ability,

it looks like Noel hears something.

Sitting quietly, I keep observing the cat.

His mouth is now flat on the floor

He changes his limb positions, ready to attack.

Awaiting for a long while but not able to get the prey

The cat changes his mind, the hunting is over.

Usually Noel gets the prey when stink bugs crawl around, or

Flies or mosquitoes fly across the room.

Empty paws this time so he waits for the next opportunity.

NOEL RÌNH MỒI - Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN
