Not Deferred Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I closely observed
But didn’t deserve
The place near by
But hopelessly tried

It was of my stupid act
The she kept silent
Did not utter a word
Yet moved ahead and looked forward

She never resisted my move
But always insisted to prove
To go ahead and provide cover
But I did it never

She gladly accepted my cowardice
And breach of promise
Even though she was female
She never complained or tell

Now I realize
How important it is to seize
An opportunity offered
And decision never deferred
