Not I Poem by Dislocated Heart

Take me as I am..
Or don't love me at all.
I haven't got time to waste.
I simply don't tolerate.
so, leave if you must.
and I will sit here..
debating all my wrongs.

I am flawed,
was never perfectly made.
I've gotten scars..
and torn in places no one can see.
so be gentle with me.
I can't withstand another blow to my aching bones.

so love me, or leave me.
Proceed, on with such a life.
but if you choose to stay..
Know it's my given right..
to love you so deeply..
I hurt in the night..
ache for you in my sleep..
love you without a doubt,
trust you with every ounce,
and care for you.. like no one ever has..

Take me as I am..
or don't walk into my life at all.
Never will I tolerate such a foolish behavior.
Dare to lie, Dare to never be spoken to again.
break promises? well, you won't have a chance to make them.
attempt to lose my trust? Don't worry.. It has never been your gain.
So walk away if you please..
because nothing in life is free.
Either you stay and gain what you need in dignity.
or walk.. and miss out on the great opportunity.
