Not Intellectual, Experiential Life Poem by Chuy Amante

Not Intellectual, Experiential Life

As I drive my bus
thru mountains to the seas
I want to feel it all
thru senses, the sun and trees.
The water, the flavors, the cool
and warm
I want to experience it all
and do it no harm

I don't need to know about
its history and past
don't tell me of the chemistry
in my head it won't last

let me touch it, feel it,
taste it and bathe
let me climb every mountain
and spelunk every cave

I don't need to think
about the wonders out there
I want to be with it
and experience more
than most would dare!
