Not Knowing Why Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Not Knowing Why

Rating: 5.0

If you were

To touch me

In some ways

I couldn't

Understand

Would it make me

Less of a man

Would your warm hand

Open my eyes

To morning's light

In awful fright

Would my blindness

Search out your light

Would my deafness

Cry out for sound

Would my taste for love

Lose essence in Above

Would I cry tonight

Not knowing why

This poem won me over with the first four lines...I feel love is just that. A person touches your life, your heart and your mind and you never fully understand why or how it happened.10 +++++

Thank you, Sister Frances for your insights and positive feedback. Greatly appreciate the 10, but it didn't register. Thanks for your support.

Beautiful, ethereal, haunting. Would my blindness search out your light Wondrously rich lyricism, my friend. Bravo.

Seamus, thank you so much for your very positive feedback. Ethereal and haunting are two of my favourite words, esp. when it's describing poetry.
