Not That Different Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Not That Different

Not that different,
Are our minds.
To use them as we choose,
Done to do.

And not that different,
Is the time...
To either value it.
Or waste to lose.

We all wake up each day.
Deciding what to wear.
With a caring to make,
That impression on somebody.

Yes we all wake up each day.
To follow a routine.
With a meaning meant to be,
Heard, observed...
And to be seen.
By someone who approves.
Or pretend that's what they do.

No not that different,
Are our minds.
To use them as we choose,
Done to do.

And not that different,
Are those choices we make...
To prove,
Whatever we decide...
Is our decision made,
No one influenced.

Not that different...
Is approval to want.
And...
Not that different,
Is acceptance wish it.
And not that different,
Are disappointments we share.
When no one seems to care...
What it is they choose for who,
To do.

No not that different,
Are our minds.
No not that different,
Is the time we find to waste.
Wondering what,
We can better do.
No not that different,
Are our minds.
Seeking to impress.
Or who it is,
We say we don't do!

No not that different,
Are we all from each other.

No not that different,
Are we all!

No not that different,
Are we all from each other.

No not that different,
Are we all!
