O, My Far Friend!
Poem by the phisician and poetess:
Hana Al-Qadhi
Translation from Arabic by: Freeyad Ibrahim
Now you are coming back, practicing roughness professionally
And I…
Have grown tired
Have grown tired
And I don't know if I can tolerate
Much more pain
Much more misery
Endurably?
The violet lights cheers up the night of my balcony
If it were the chivalry era we now live in
You would have come to me on the horseback
And picked me up from my loneliness
And my setback
Beware…don't care
Nothing but dreams and delusions
Nothing but illusions
Your face
The silence
The hush
Have you grown bored and tired of talking?
or uttering a phrase?
Say something
Which one of us you think to be blamed firstly?
Perished it be…we are dying slowly
And let us cease saying in delight:
That everything is all right! !
