Ode To Victor Hugo (17) God Is A Grotesque Humbug

Ode To Victor Hugo (17)"The Miserable" God is A Grotesque Humbug
Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

We must in the Earth Burrow
For the Truth
Seize hold of it
I stand Four-Square for it
Immortality of Man
Is a Daydream
It is but a stupid theme
A soothing Promise
God is a Grotesque Humbug
To Renounce the Things
On this Earth
For Paradise
is to Throw Substance
for Shadow

-Did I Exist Before my Death? No
-Shall I Exist After my Death? No

May I say my own words
Monsieur Hugo?
We often Avoid the Truth
Truth often Misery Brings
Kills the Mirage
Which we call Joy
Make you feel like
A Butterfly with No Wings
