Ode To Victor Hugo-26 'the Miserable' javert Flat Nose

A close look at Javert,
the insoector
Revealed
A flat nose
With two wide nostrils
Flanked
by huge Side - whiskers.
When Javert laughed,
a rare and terrible occurance,
his thin lips parted
To display
Not only his teeth
But his gums
A deep and savage furrow
Formed on either Side
Of his nose
And narrowed,
As though
On the muzzle
Of a beast of prey,
Any way..
Javert unsmiling
Was a bulldog;
Javert smiling
was a tiger,
Roared!
