Of Winter Days And Sunbeams Of Light - A Sonnet

Of winter days and sunbeams of light - A sonnet
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I seek delight in the "blossoms of snow" on barren plants
Which create the illusion that they are white flowers
Adorning the plants bereft of leaves
For it is winter, when cold envelops
And a winter is brightened by a breath of cheer
And it is thus we greet each other
For coldness of spirit would just make the day colder
Cocooned inside our homes, we make do with winter past times;
But I take delight in running errands,
Walking through the snow,
Not being a wet blanket in the snow
Feeling sunbeams of happiness light up my world
And I feel this happiness being reflected in the
Sunbeams of light that make their entry into our world through the skylight and windows and solarium.

I saw the bare plants decorated with snow looking like white cotton flowers just the way you have described it.Wrote few haiku or poem about it. The most beautiful site to watch from window. Your beautiful poem brought all the memory back of that beautiful snow-covered land.Thanks for sharing.
