Oh! My Father

Oh! My father

How to hold the head high?

And feel right

About people and the country

Is it not the shame to feel pity?

Forefathers dreamt about and provided for free education

To live sans fear with cordial relation

No discrimination on the basis of caste. Creed and religion

But today where stands my nation?

We take oath in the name of "Gita"

Speak the only untruth and thus runs the courts

We try to learn nothing

Perfection has no relevance for something

As fool cuts the branch on which he sits

We drink pure water but at the same time pollute

We breathe fresh air but pollute it with chemical contents

We do nothing for ourselves at present

"Not the country first" but the family should appear

Poor and downtrodden should always fear

The country had been pathetically ruled

The public has remained a mere spectator and remained fooled

Oh! My Father
