I was born in a bank - - my mother went there and made a deposit

Old Wes 01 (Limerick)

Rating: 5.0

Old Wes decided to learn his fate;
It was much too hard to contemplate.
So he heard from a sage:
You will double your age
And live to a hundred and sixty-eight!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is what I said when this was originally posted:
Dedicated to my Canadian friend, Wes Vogler, who inspired me to write more limericks. May he live for another eighty-four years!

21 March 2016

(At the time this was first posted, I thought Wes was 84 years old, but I had miscalculated. He was already 85 at the time!)

Deactivated when I discovered that Poem Hunter had added a soundtrack, which I detest.
Re-submitted 1 November 2018.

I feel old at 60. Wes calls me, Lad. He is immortal.

He calls me Lad, also. Compared to him, I guess almost everybody is a lad. What a great guy he is!
