Old Wes 02 (Limerick)

Old Wes is a great hand with a rhyme;
He can manage it every time.
When I asked, Does it matter?
His look did me shatter.
To not do it, he said, is a crime.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Dedicated to Wes Vogler, my Canadian friend, who inspired me to write more limericks. Wes says he is of the old school, and if it doesn't rhyme, it isn't poetry.

He hasn't come out and said so, but he probably thinks non-rhyming poets should be shot with this punt gun, designed for duck hunting. It could kill 50 ducks with one shot until it was banned in the 1800's.

He flirts with syllables to the advancement of cadence, but always rhymes.

Yes, and he flirts with all the pretty girls until Donna grabs him by the ear!
