On A Dismal Day Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

On A Dismal Day

Clouds have formed in the distance,
Morning time is here again,
On the far horizon,
There's a reddish hue,
And the weatherman says,
Rain, and more rain!
I look from my window,
The sky nearly grey,
The last of the blue,
Has drifted away,
What shall I do on this dark dismal day?
I'll write some poems,
Over a nice coffee brewed,
That will help,
To shake off the blues.
And then when I've finished,
I'll sit back and sigh,
Feeling contentment,
Just watching the world go by.
