On Both Sides Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

On Both Sides

On both sides.
Many have begun to see.
How selfishness and obtain greed,
Can come to stop immediately.
By those whose interests only feeds,
Upon their daily wants and basic needs.
Done to do with a blatant childishness.
A childish mindset,
Raised and pampered to justify their misdeeds.

On both sides,
Of a stubborn indifference to keep.
People have begun to witness in disbelief,
A choice they made to select and pick...
Those who were qualified,
To protect and honor...
Their God given rights to receive entitlements.
Over others to dismiss.
Find themselves equally treated,
With no difference made when it comes...
To serve the egos of those narcissistic.
Done with this to suffer,
Collectively.
Until a game to play on everyone,
Has been won.
To satisfy one who sits convinced.
They have been picked to rule,
Over fools they have made.
On both sides to realize,
Too late.
For their eyes to open wide,
To recognize the mistake they have chosen...
That represents what they've consented,
Best reflects who they are.
But did not expect,
They would be shown disrespect.
And total disregard.
Like they have done to others to approve.

"What is going on?
This is not suppose to happen."

-Why not?
And for what reason? -

"Well...er...ummm.
You know.
Isn't that obvious? "

-Yeah.
It's been obvious for quite sometime.
We call it reality.
Most effective when applied,
To end pretensions and delusions.
Hopefully you'll survive the ride.
Many couldn't take it.-

"Why?
What happened? "

-Well...er...ummm.
You know.
Isn't that obvious? -
