from 'While Passing Through'/Summer
Night sky in summer
far from town—each star like us—
one among billions.
How pertinent a view of humanity, Glen Just one among billions, but with the possibility of being everything to those God has placed in our orbit.
Is anyone famous among all earth’s people? —Fame which tempts so many of us. A favorite saying of mine, Neal, like your comment is, To the world we may be just one person, but to one person we may be the world. Thank you, as always, for taking your time to read and comment. -Glen

A good zoom-out to give us perspective. Worldly stars are big fish in a very small pond. Conversely, in the words of Dr Seuss “a person’s a person, no matter how small.” We need both angles, I think.
" zoom-out" —i like that, laurie. speaking of the dr. seuss' quote, i'm currently reading a biography of fred rogers. don't know if you saw him in south africa, but for years he had a show for young children on public television here in the states. thank you for following up on this poem. -glen
