On The First Of Many Anniversaries - Poem by Kim McInnis

a year has passed
one year
since we chose this path
an empty promise to ourselves

a year has passed
one year
since we started this game
an innocent whisper to ourselves

it seems to long
and you say we've changed so much

a year has passed
one year
since we imagined this day
a pretty painting of ourselves

it seems so long
and you say we've changed so much

a year has passed
one year
but the scenery still looks the same
and I'm still here

I'm always here.
