Matthew shows incredible insight and talent in his poems. His imagery is dark but also reflective and uplifting; he has good rhythm and a gift for rhymes. Poems best read while listening to A Flock of Seagulls, particularily the song 'Nightmares'. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

Majesty Turned Murderer

The ocean was once a place
Of beauty and grace
Nevermore shall it be
Since it took them away from me
I hate the sea

The couple Kami and Gene
Have since never been seen
Lost in an inferno of blue
All that was found was his shoe
The worst of fears came true

The remembrance that Boiler Bay
Took them away
Only refreshes the pain
That they were unmercifully slain
I hate the sea
