On The Lamp Poem by Koyugray Kyouga

On The Lamp

A fruit fly, on the lamp,
Charting its path in its own sun.

One wing is half, torn, formless.
Max 40W it says, on the lamp.

For it, for the fly, pardon, for this fruit fly, probably a meaningless detail this is.
Max 40W it says, on that lamp.

If I were to consider the situation as a literate fruit fly,
Maybe I would admire this flight, watching it with great excitement as if watching a brave war pilot.

Or I would find this flight very dangerous as a timid fly, it says 40W after all.
40 Watts may be small for humanity, but for us flies, I would say 'Oh creator insect love! This is too much'. Be careful, my fruit fly friend!

Anyway, tonight, me and the little fruit fly,
Both of us are actually, in our own course.
Maybe it is also telling its own fruit fly friends about me, in its own style.
It in its own path, me in my own mind.
That's how it is tonight, that lamp saying 40W.
