On Top Of A Hot Stove Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

On Top Of A Hot Stove

A pot on top of a hot stove,
Noticed to have its contents boil over.
But no one turns down the heat.
To blame and claim,
They didn't put what's in the pot,
That's got it hot.
Even if the heat applied to the pot,
Threatens to burn down the entire house.
