Once There Was A Time

Once there was a time
When all was light
And my years seemed endless
Love overwhelming.
My lover gave purpose
But now alone
In the Autumn of my days
Dreaming of what might have been.
There are purple storms
That cannot be weathered
Loneliness breaking the spirit
And a lover forever gone.
