Falling swiftly
Through memory's door,
Into a dream
Where deliberately untrod,
I'd not been before - - - -
I met you!
Face to face
Once again.
And
Immediately sensing
The stretch of denial
Awaiting
before us
The tears began then
To stream.
At the sight of your name
As
The years fell away.
Re-living
That day
We'd said goodbye,
I proved that love,
Though renouced,
Long ago
So
Long ago.
Feels the same.
In every era, love does indeed feel the same/ A very profound thought. Romance is alive and well in this nostalgic poem. Love, SandraX
Poignant and touching, memories re-surfacing can be bittersweet, Lynda xx
The ability to be poignant is vital to from-the-heart poetry. Many people are unfortunately heavy-handed in this genre. Not you, however. This is beautifully balanced with just the right amount of sweet sadness as you effortlessly capture a place that we all visit from time to time.
Hey there... this was exquisitely expressed. upon reading this within my chest between my breasts I felt the warmth of the memories of all the loves gone by: the warm of happiness the warmth of sadness: upon reading this, I felt love!
Forever young, they stay in our memories forever, there was a reason why, but we may never know it! ; the old adage! it is better to have loved than never to have loved at all! i will take the pain gladly! for i have loved!

Lovely memory Fay, sometimes the years fall away for me. Good poem to start my day, thank you for this as we have a grey wet day. Love Bob 10/10
