Only Father - Poem by Hasmukh Amathalal

Father generally remains unknown
In any case better than quality of his own
But in many cases proved
That he is also being loved

When little boy get snub
From mother who makes him to rub
Nose on the ground for some fault
He is there to help from jolt

He may embrace son
Love and kiss with some reasons
He is very kind person
From heart as well to call on

It fills full mouth
When called “Father, father “
Mothers taunts, brother frowns
Sister takes casually and runs

Such father is rare to all
Stands alone to greet the call
Either in adversity or in happiness
He is there firmly to face

He should take us to last
His life should not end fast
Whole of the family bereaves after death
Young and old all sob till the tire out of breath
