Only Memories Remain Poem by Reshma Ramesh

Only Memories Remain

Rating: 4.5

ages and ages of loneliness
decades and decades
of walking alone
tired soles
thirsty lips
red eyes
returning
home
to an
empty
house where
you and me sat
on the porch and ate
cashew nuts and sipped wine
now all gone, only memories remain

This is very good indeed, Reshma. The way you've set out the lines is visually very satisfying and at the same time, it works well with the rhythm of the piece. 'Cashew nuts and sipped wine' is especially eloquent. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Yes! only memories remain. ' Of dreams and their interpretations Of brightly lit hands And happy lines of fate Folks separate from us Their memories Continue to live.'
