Only One Shall Win Poem by Lisa French

Only One Shall Win

Suicides calling my name
Getting closer and closer
Down it drags me
Right to the point, where I shouldn’t be

Whispers all around
‘Do it, it won’t hurt
You’ll be out of this pain
It’ll be over soon’

Tears fill my eyes
With a decision that’s mine to make
Right or wrong
Wrong or right

It’s so bad
I don’t care what’s wrong
My heart says different
But it’s my head I listen to

Would it really affect others?
If I was to do as my head said
That’s the point I’m at
Ready to say goodbye

Pain against love
The greatest battle
All inside of me
Only one shall win
