Open Eye Meditation! Poem by Savita Tyagi

Open Eye Meditation!

I sit idly staring at horizon.
Nothing at particular!
To focus and concentrate on
Any particular is a power,
Now in recession!
A show of slow rhythmic movements
Grab whatever little focus I have!
A white cloud floats in the blue sky!
A red bird sits on the stalk of
Flower pot for few seconds.
Hymn! Never saw her sitting so close to me!
She flies away before I could even think of
Snapping a picture of it!
Squirrels seem to have vanished this summer!
I wonder why?
But a rabbit often hops through back yard,
Summer heat makes him look thinner!
Marvels of life pulsating through
Simple little things put me at ease!
Beyond my blank, vagabond stares
Quiet surroundings of my back yard
Aren't as quiet as one would think!
Even with waning physical and mental prowess
Life offers so much to focus on!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sometime I write simply to keep myself together. Some time my thoughts guide me. Other times I guide my thoughts. Just like with life, we believe that we are guiding our life but often Life is what guides us. Meditation teaches us to trust and differentiate in this process.
