Operation Hour Poem by Narsimha Madiraju

Operation Hour

Between hope and despair,
Several weary eyes fill the waiting halls.
As darkness makes way to sunshine,
Tests that test patience follow like shadows.
While walking into operation theatre,
Fear grips patient and thoughts seek solace in God
As Surgeon starts operating on numbed eye
Mind and body paralyzed alike.
While the hour turns interminable,
A mellifluous voice announces successful
Completion of the operation.
The almighty creator, personified as
The Surgeon opens a new world of beauty and joy
Before mist filled eyes.

(Above lines are dedicated to Dr. Sayan Basu.Lvprasad eyehospital)
