Oh Mother Earth what have we done
You bore our sins while we made fun
Your plants and trees and oceans too
Took the methane and carbon that we blew
From belching chimneys full of smoke
To streets of car that made you choke.
Now plastic and micro beads fill the seas
And arctic ice caps no longer freeze.
Now all the ice caps have slowly melt
Where all the polar bears once dwelt
And climate change has taken hold
Where tipping points will soon unfold
Mass extinction becomes the force
Roars like Death's galloping horse
To leave the Earth in a state of strife
A cold barren world without life.
Profound poem, are we not silent watchers of all these? I am happy that you have raised this issue which is serious in nature. Full****
