Our Time To Fight Poem by Laquory Jones

Our Time To Fight

I'm a product of the middle class where we only dream of trying to
Outlast the generations that came before us but the gov't only ignores
Us brushing us off with frozen shoulders my family is a bunch of
Dreamers because that's the way society sees us it's been like this
Ever since I was a baby fetus I'm just hoping that one day I can
Lead the people to the promised land because nothing is promised
Man as we hold our fates in hands today I'm making a stand
To do all that I can to change the world at large because my thoughts
& Intentions will never be easily discarded sparking fire in the heart
Of the heartless while sparking up a revolution because right now
People need one as I try to conjure up a solution be prepared
For a solitude intrusion right now people need a leader a path just
To see through in the world people need us to lift up our voice in
Frustration it's now or never sheered determination showing the
World our dedication while our politicians are taking bribes
Under the table while thinking everything in our lives are just
Gambles leaving our families in shambles it's time to sever
Relations let them know we are past negotiations it's time for
Crooked politicians resignations as the gov't make more regulations
And guidelines in succession blindly stripping us of our freedoms

Hoping we don't figure this out in due time
Forcing our hand until it breaks and I don't have to elaborate
Look at what they've done as of late officials in debate
Trying to pass a health-care bill today the one stripping us of all
Resources and the elderly of medicaid all for the elites sake
What's a tax cut that never breaks across state to state
Corporations never wants to pay the people
Trickling down economics never worked either

The gov't told us to put on our boots straps and lace them
Laughing at our dreams as we go to chase them no time for
Wasting as we use our talents as penchants but our work
Goes unmentioned as corporate robs us of our pension and
Yet they can't sense our tension when our pleas go unlisted
When will we get our say perhaps a listen while the FCC
Tries to severe our Internet usage because of competition
What happens to Poets when the FCC begins stifling
Their vision I personally find this sickening with thoughts
Riveting inside my core streams of adrenaline rippling from
Inside me more while the gov't is limiting what I have in-store
Belittling every ounce of energy that I had so this is a pivotal
Moment for action unite each faction as we come together in unity
Fighting for our Constitution and our beliefs I'm hoping that
you will take this journey with me because this goes beyond you and me
This is for the next generations and the future leaders indeed
So tell me my fellow citizens do I have you intrigued
