Outlook Zero Poem by Sandra Feldman

Outlook Zero

All hope lost,
We will continue to decline,
Rome was lost, corruption most,
And now it is our Time.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
No light on the horizon,
Supposed future leaders lie and are corrupt themselves.
If there is anything left by 2016, there are no saviors.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Succinct and bleak- -very nice. Your poem echoes a common feeling. It might be the new millennium blues, though. The world is changing faster than it ever has- (the computer may be more revolutionary than any invention that preceded it) . Terrorism, social networking, gov't spying on its own citizens, plastic in the oceans, space-junk, overpopulation, climate-change- -there are so many problems that seem insurmountable, and we hear about them every minute of every day. It wasn't like that when I was a kid; we had reason to hope. Corruption is born when one loses hope for the future, and loses faith in legitimacy.
