Overcoming Imperfections Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Overcoming Imperfections

Imperfections to acknowledge them,
Maybe, can, could and would...
Become painful to face.
But to replace them stubbornly,
With steadfast ignorance kept to praise...
Is much more damaging to the human race.
And the diversity humanity represents.
To attempt by a few to erase God's creation.

Severe are the consequences.
Felt to come.
By those believing themselves,
The chosen ones selected and picked.
To undo what God has created to do.

Severe they are the consequences.
To pay.
For those who allow themselves to follow.
With a willingness to disobey.
And unable to overcome,
What God has done to create.
Hoping to eliminate the reality of facts.
Hoping no one notices,
Their disastrous acts...
Have not been loyal,
To a commitment to ignorance, self-righteousness.
And false beliefs kept to delude superiority!
