Painted Doll Poem by Paula Glynn

Painted Doll

You're so lucky
You vain little girl
With your masterful makeup
Such as foundation and glamorous lipsticks
Your perfect skin never producing sweat
But you can bet if you were me you would.

You're so fortunate
You vain little girl
With your beautiful clothing
Your perfect designer dresses
Your perfect Louboutin high heels
But you'd trip and fall in my world.

You're so blessed
You vain little girl
With your expensive cars
Private airplanes and helicopters
Your world view seeing us normals
As people in the way of the perfect day.

You're so blind
You vain little girl
Only seeing your unique way of life
Through your eyes and not the public's
For you are safe in your lavish mansion
You are under vital security protection.

You're never my friend I'm afraid
You vain little girl
For you live in the imaginary world
But one thing I feel good about:
No matter your designer dresses and sparkling jewels
You'll never replace Jennifer Lopez.
