Pandemically Speaking Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Pandemically Speaking

Everyone World wide.
Is living with the threat,
Of a fast spreading.
And predictable diseasing pandemic.
On doorsteps to leave its devastation.

And yet...
There are many still left believing,
From them will be taken away...
Their entitled amendment rights,
To buy guns to hunt down predators.
With this to express more concern.
Than a virus threating their lives.
Or something worse.
The losing of their possessions.
In the fear of being left unprotected.
If a war against themselves should occur!

"Uh...huh? "

Pandemically speaking.
Of course.

"Uh...
Where on Earth,
Is this 'asylum' located? "

Incredible and impossible to believe.
There are folks with this...
This antiquated mindset.
Seriously deluded.
Their 'entitlements' have more significance,
Than humanity itself.

"When and where did you see this movie?
Has it been released 'World wide' yet? "

Only in certain communities.
Where the inhabitants of this and other,
'Asylums' exist.

"Whew.
Oh..so they're testing it first,
To get the reaction,
From picked demographics? "

Uh...yeah.
You can say that!
Pandemically speaking.

"Of course.
Pandemically speaking!
It's just a movie, right?
Right? "
