Paris And Haiti Are On Fire Poem by Hebert Logerie

Paris And Haiti Are On Fire

Paris is on fire
France is on fire
Port-Au-Prince is on fire
Haiti is on fire
I am amazed
To see ablaze
So many towns and countries
On fire. People are sad and angry
They are upset at the authorities
These days, it is not easy
To make ends meet
People are speaking out, revolting
Protesting and demonstrating
People cannot afford to buy meat
And vegetables. Nothing is cheap
Their purchasing power diminishes
Every hour of the day. Prices leap
At least twice a day. No dishes
To wash, no jobs, bad economy
The retirees are feeling the pinch
Gas prices are high and pricey
Unemployment is high, it's hard to clinch
Decent employment and life is unbearing
The mighty people are fed-up and tired
They no longer want to go to bed
Dirty, hungry and thirsty. The whole thing
Is messy and disgusting. Somebody
At the top is in charge and responsible
The people want answers and solutions
Nobody can afford violence and destruction
Ignorance, isolation, corruption and inaction
The people want competency and better directions
No to arrogance, no to Police brutalities
In this world, no to fatalities and hostilities

Paris is on fire
France is on fire
Port-au-Prince is on fire
Haiti is on fire
Our world is almost on fire
Things are very bad and dire
Our world needs a Savior
In the USA, the caravan is at the border
Rocks are being thrown, the migrants
Are fighting, the US Border Patrol agents
Responded by firing tear gas and bullets
Dark smokes are everywhere, this is the pits
Children are falling, mothers are crying
Men are being detained and put in jail
This is chaos on earth; this is hell
This is madness. Should we blame global warming?
Paradise was on fire in California
People got hurt, died and are dying
Too much misery, too much suffering
The world is in a state of paranoia
Paris is on fire
France is on fire
Haiti is on fire
Our world is on fire.
