Party Is Over Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Party Is Over

Rating: 5.0

Night is not lonely
People are every where
In parks, in lawns, in gardens
Sitting on the benches
Some cuddling and kissing
Some just talking and smiling
Smoking and drinking beer
Some are lying on the grasses
And watching the stars moving
Slowly and smiling to themselves
Children are feeling sleepy
And clinging to their mother's neck
The party is over
Tables are being pushed to the corners
Glasses are being kept safely
In card board boxes
Table clothes are being pulled
And dropped and gathered into
Heaps on the floor to be washed
Night simmers as cars
Doors are opened and closed

Engines ignited
There is silence all around
A soft wind begins to rattle
The windows through which
Yellowish light falls at the edge
Of the deserted lawn
