Patience, Patient Poem by D.N. Rebb

Patience, Patient

Lying here in bed
With both feet outspread
Over the far edge
You said, have patience

You're an optimist
That cannot resist
You are the patient
With endless patience

A blind leap of faith
Resisting embrace
Impatient, you're not
Yet pace at all cost

A smile, ill posed
What's hidden, exposed
Swallow the envy
Thoughts worth a penny

Time-honoured patient
Redundant payment
‘Nother incision
Brings new religion
