Peaceful Ignorance Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Peaceful Ignorance

There could be a possibility,
Of a peaceful ignorance.
Displayed and to exist.
Witnessed in protest.
Without one incident to permit.
And the likelihood those involved,
Protesting with no sign of conflict...
Would not these days be a rare event.
To know those gathering peacefully,
Are on some new medication.
Recently available to have been invented.
At a low price to pay to stay addicted.
With a forgetting by all,
Why they've come to protest.
What it is they should hate.
And the reason they await calmly to get,
Medicated.
